On numerous events, I've written about the sharp improve in the number of startups that are acquiring off the ground. And whilst we really do not create about them all – What can I say? We're picky – we enjoy them all. I hope to meet some of them when I go to the newest startup launch pads, appropriately named the Kick off conference.

The conference was started out by Mahalo founder Jason Calacanis, who was previously involved with other launch activities. The conference is getting held in San Francisco following week on Feb. 23 and 24, and I'll be portion of the grand jury of the celebration. I hope to discover some great businesses and appear forward to sharing their stories. (GigaOM readers can register here for a 20 % discount.)

While several startups are going to start subsequent week, a total new crew of business owners are finding prepared to start their ventures. If you&#8217re a single of them, you need to check out i/o Ventures’ startup program. The San Francisco-based mostly tech incubator is searching for people to join its following commence-up class, which kicks on March 15. The deadline for software submission is Feb. 21.

It is a 3-month program that assists corporations by way of the early phases of firm creation. The first class from i/o had 6 corporations, of which four got funded and are on to the following stage.
